Ed (Edward) Raymond McDonald, Sr., 91, was born on February 19, 1930, in Linden, Texas. He passed away on September 14, 2021, in Cold Springs, Texas. Ed McDonald was the original owner of the Big H Speedway and at the time of his death was President of Bronco Heavy Hauling, Inc and was active for more than 40+ years in heavy hauling business. He was well known in the raceway world and the Houston Contractor’s Association. Ed is survived by his daughters, Louise Webster, Terri Adams, Diane McCluskey, and Shelley Kathleen McDonald, daughter-in-law Charlene McDonald and grandchildren Alex Webster, Greg Webster, Kay Webster, Cher Smith, Shannon Adams, Kellie Figueria, Edward McDonald III, Scottie McDonald, Jennifer Darosa, James McCluskey, Ryan Samm, Holly Samm, and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brother Jimmie McDonald and his wife Judy, and he considered Amanda Anderson and Kallie Acton as grandchildren from a previous marriage. He is preceded in death by his son, (Bubba) Edward R. McDonald, Jr., Raymond Hill McDonald, father, Emmie Mae McDonald, mother, Robert Earl McDonald, brother, Bettye Joyce Parrish, sister, Billy Joe McDonald, brother. A memorial service will be held on November 7, 2021, at the Browder’s Marina Pavilion at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by the McNutt Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas.
