Jerry Lynn Byrum

Jerry Lynn Byrum, 77, passed away on August 19, 2024, in

Lufkin, Texas. Born on June 29, 1947, Jerry dedicated 19 years of

service to the US Army, where he was known for his commitment

and resilience.

Jerry was known for his humorous personality and his love for

motorcycles, a passion that brought joy throughout his life. He

shared his life with his beloved wife, Shirley Byrum, and was a loving

father to Lorna (James) Spears, Tammy (Dale) Bolin, Mitzi (Bryan)

Hobbs, and Jeremy Byrum. He was a cherished grandfather to De-

Wayne Purvis, Wesley Purvis, Justin Spears, Lacy Troutman, Dan-

ielle Rudebusch, Darrin Pollock, Hailey Peck, Bo Eaton, and Taryn

Byrum, and a proud great-grandfather to numerous great-grand-

children. Jerry also had a special bond with his beloved dog, Rufus.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald (Shorty) Byrum;

mother, Thelma Broaddus Kelly; brothers, Tommy, Greg, and Mike

Byrum; son, Jerry Jr.; and granddaughters, Tamra Eaton and Kait-

lyn Byrum.

In line with Jerry’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flow-

ers, contributions can be made to honor his memory by planting a

tree, continuing his legacy of love for nature.
