Landy Leo Trapp Sr.

Landy Leo Trapp Sr., a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 84, in Lufkin, Texas. Born on December 1, 1940, in Clarksville, Texas, Landy was a man who lived a life marked by creativity, generosity, and a remarkable ability to fix and build anything with his hands.

Landy was a generous soul, always willing to share his time and skills with others. He approached life with a warmth and kindness that drew people to him, and he was beloved by all who knew him. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many in the community through his willingness to volunteer and assist wherever he was needed.

Landy's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Ann Trapp, and their children, who reflect his spirit in their own lives. He is survived by his children Landy Trapp Jr. and his wife Annie of Cuero, Leona Trapp McShan and her husband Jimmy of Lufkin, Shirley Trapp Butler and her husband Robert of Wells, Gaylon Trapp of Lufkin, Jeannie Trapp of Lufkin, Berwyn Russell of Lufkin, Martha and Andres Solis of Lufkin, Judy and David Swearingen of Silsbee, Michael and Donna Williams of Lufkin, Archie and Sherry A. Williams of Lufkin, Jackie Williams of Cushing, Kevin and Leia Williams of Dayton, and Billy Jack Williams of Lufkin. Each of them carries a piece of their father's heart and hands within them.

His brothers and sisters Louise Trapp Johnson of Hughes Springs, Paul and Karen Trapp of Doucett, Gene Trapp of Summerville, Scott and Erin Trapp of Angeltown, and Ann Cannon of Lufkin. He is survived by many grand kids, great-grandkids, great-great-grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Landy Lott Trapp, mother, Evenlyn S Trapp, brothers, Charles Trapp, Kenneth Trapp, Prentiss Trapp and Robert Shivers. His son Tommy Welch, his daughters, Barbara S. Trapp, and Pamela Trapp, grandsons, Trevor Williamson, Tristian Trapp, and Calvin Williams.

As we bid farewell to Landy Leo Trapp Sr., we reflect on a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a presence that will be deeply missed. His was a life that exemplified the best of what it means to be human: creativity, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. His memory will live on as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
