Lisa Lajean Perry

July 18, 1962 — July 6, 2023

Lisa LaJean Perry, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully of medical complications on July 6, 2023, in Houston, Texas. Born on July 18, 1962, in Lufkin, Texas, Lisa was known for her courageous heart, and friendly demeanor.

Lisa was the daughter of Melba Allen and the late Joe Allen Sr. She was the sister of Connie Allen, Joe Allen Jr. and his wife Wanda, and Neely Powell and her husband Gaylon. Lisa was the proud mother to her son, Shane Cody Perry. Lisa had numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends and all will miss her deeply.

Lisa was born and raised in Diboll, where she attended Diboll High School and graduated as part of the Class of 1980. As an adult, Lisa dedicated her life to being a full-time mother to her son Cody. Her love for him was endless and was evident in every aspect of her life.

She loved to crochet, creating beautiful things that were often gifted to her loved ones. Lisa loved to play Bingo and could be found at most local games visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. She enjoyed the outdoors and wouldn’t pass up a chance to go fishing and just sit and relax.

Her love for these hobbies and pastimes failed to compare to the joy she felt when spending time with Cody and creating memories that he can cherish and find comfort in for the days ahead.

Lisa was known by those who loved her as a courageous woman. In her lifetime she faced Cancer twice with a brave heart and a determined spirit. Her courage was an inspiration to all who knew her, and to her dear friends that faced the same challenges, she was encouraging and close by when they needed her.

Her friendly nature was one of her most defining traits, her laughter was infectious and her smile a source of comfort for many.

Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her son, her family, and her friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to an account that has been set up for her son, Shane Cody Perry, at American State Bank in the name of Neely Powell.
