Mary Ann Yates, a loving and spirited woman, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023, in Missouri City, Texas. Born on May 26, 1946, in Lufkin, Texas, Mary Ann was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.


Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Oveta Martin, and her siblings, John Martin and Annie Pixley. She is survived by her devoted husband, Noel Yates, and their children, Jody Cook and wife Kim Cook, and Lisa Cannon. Mary Ann was a proud grandmother to Michael Massey and wife Racheal, Cory Jones, Caleb Cannon and wife Jazmine, Page Cook and wife Hannah. She was also a doting great-grandmother to Mikey Massey, Riley Massey, Abby Massey, Logan Massey, Allie Jones, Helena Cannon, Amelia Cook, and Owen Cook. Mary Ann is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Julie Clark, John Paul Martin, and Artie Yates; dear friends Steve and Maria Miller, as well as a host of loving family and friends.


Throughout her life, Mary Ann was known for her warm and caring nature. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved and appreciated. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence could light up a room. Mary Ann was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need.


Mary Ann's love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, whether it was a simple family dinner or a large gathering for holidays and special occasions. Mary Ann's home was always filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her delicious home-cooked meals.
