Mylinda Dyianne McNeely was born on June 3, 1963 in Orange, Texas, to parents Billy Oliver and Tommie Smith. She passed away peacefully at her home on May 11, 2023, in Lufkin, Texas. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and an amazing friend. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who were blessed to have known her. Although her passing has left a void in our hearts, her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
She was a proud mother and grandmother whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She cherished every moment that she had with them and always made sure to create lasting memories that would be treasured for years to come. She was a loving and selfless mother who always put her family's needs before her own. She was known as a good cook; everyone loved her chicken and dressing at Thanksgiving. She loved baking pumpkin and apple pies. Mylinda enjoyed sewing and loved to go fishing and the casinos. Despite battling cancer, Mylinda remained strong and courageous until the very end. She never lost her faith and remained optimistic throughout her battle. She was an inspiration to those who knew her and will always be remembered for her unwavering strength. Mylinda never met a stranger. She enjoyed telling stories about her time in Venezuela of her childhood days.
Mylinda is survived by her children; Michael Wayne McNeely, Jr., Paul Jefferson Brown, Jr. and wife Courtney, Meagan Brown, Michelle Franks and husband Chris, Jennifer Haley and husband Morgan; extended family, Joshua Glawson and wife Sara and Regan Pillows; sister, Debbie Oliver, sister, Donna Courtney and husband James, brother, Kenneth Sand, brother, John K. Smith and wife Karen, sister, Leslie Perron and husband John; Grandchildren; Chloe Brown, Charity Brown, Cerenity Brown, Trey Brown, Carson Brown, Trystan Worsham, Avery Brown, Clarissa Schnaebele, C.J. Franks, Morgan Franks, Christian Franks and Ragnar Glawson who were her whole world.
