Sharon Kay Morris

Sharon Kay Morris, 69, of Jacksonville, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020.   She was born on February 28, 1951 to Clarence “Dub” and Robbie Lois Dent in Fort Worth, Texas, who have preceded her in death.  She is also preceded in death by grandsons Cody Mask and Hunter Vess.  Sharon enjoyed a career in law enforcement with Jacksonville Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for several years prior to joining Wal-Mart in 2001.  She was dedicated to her work and had a passion for the Lawn and Garden department.  She considered her co-workers as extended family.  Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world.  She had a love of bowling, the beach and all things Disney.  She was full of life, never met a stranger and was loved by everyone.  Her smile and laughter filled up any rooms she entered.  Sharon is survived by her husband of 28 years, Freddie Ray Morris, step-mother Jerry Fuller, brother Ray Dent and wife Paulette, sister-in-law Kay Smith, brother-in-law David Morris, sons Michael Erwin and wife Michele, Gerald Spradlin and Kevin Kappler, daughters Michelle Delaney and husband Marcus and Felicia Martinez and husband Tracy, along with grandchildren Joshua Erwin, Mikayla Mantooth, William Spradlin, Braydyn Spradlin, Jared Spradlin, Dakotah Crocker, Matthew Delaney, Caroline Wilde, Paden Harney, Parker Harney, Ethan Martinez and one great-granddaughter Raylinn Benge.  She is also survived by step-children Freddie “Butch” Morris and wife Ramona, Susan Watson and husband Kevin, Natalie Mask, Anita Vess and husband Glen, along with 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  There will be a celebration of Sharon’s life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Cornerstone Baptist Church located at 1720 S Bolton Street, Jacksonville, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 10am, followed by services at 11am. Sharon’s wishes were to be cremated so there will be no grave site service. Flowers and cards may be sent to McNutt Funeral Home at 400 S First Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association in her honor.
