Tracy Alan Volking, age 69, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, in Conroe, Texas. He was born in Corpus Christi,
Texas, on September 10, 1954, and grew up in the Houston area. As a young man, Tracy attended Pepperdine University in California on a scholarship, eventually graduating across town from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
After living for a time in California and briefly in Atlanta, Georgia, Tracy returned to the great state of his birth and settled north of the Houston metropolis in Montgomery County. For many years he worked in the cybersecurity industry in the area of sales and business development, security design and for large Homeland Security projects at petrochemical facilities. After retiring from BEI Engineers in Houston, he worked for All Floors and More in Conroe for a few years. Tracy could then be found on the driving range perfecting his swing, playing poker with friends, or cheering on the Houston Astros while on the phone watching the game with his sister and brother-in-law.
Tracy was preceded in death by his parents Joe Bert Volking, Jr. and Bobbie Lea Johnson Volking.
He is survived by his wife, Gina, of 23 years, his children, daughter Angela Stacie and her husband, Ronald Wagley, of Magnolia, Texas and their children Kyle and Cody Wagley, his son Jarod Brandon Volking of Groveton, Texas, and grandchildren Taylor, Brandon, and Jaxon Volking. He recently became a great grandfather to baby boy, Kasyn. He also leaves behind a sister, Cynthia and husband, Ron Hoffer of Avon Park Florida, and a brother, Randy, and wife Sandy Volking, of Monroe, Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Through his union with wife, Gina, Tracy was stepfather to Drew Valentine, his wife Amanda, and their children Claire, Arya, and Darrow of Phoenix, Arizona, and a second stepson Holden Valentine of Conroe, Texas. Lastly, he is survived by Gina’s daughter, Brenlee Valentine of Onalaska, Texas, and grandchildren Garrett, Ashton, McKinlee, Daphnie, Chasen, and Carlee.
In the last years of Tracy’s life, he endured health issues and fought valiantly to regain his strength after a double lung transplant. It is most fitting to remember his legacy to his extended family and friends.
