Arnold Harold Walker

Arnold Harold Walker was born March 27, 1954, in Lufkin, Texas to Harold Thayer Walker and Ethel Mae Gassiott. He died in Nacogdoches, Texas on August 14, 2021, at the age of 67. Mr. Walker graduated from Lufkin High School in 1972. He went on to join the US Navy from 1972-1976. While serving on the USS Gurke and USS Dixie he achieved rank FTG3. Arnold was a dreamer always jumping from one idea to the next. He had a knack for tinkering with things and was very interested in steam-powered engines. The past few years he expressed his eagerness to build his own steam-powered motorcycle. Mr. Walker is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Justina & Andrew Shoffitt of Pollok, Tx; sister, Dorcas Walker of Lufkin, Tx; brother, Virgil Walker of Lufkin, Tx; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bertha & Thomas Miller of Longview, Tx, and Carolyn & Rick Walters of Columbia, California; former step-children, Michael Oliver, and Chastity Holliman; 2 granddaughters, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 3 nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ewell & Opal Walker, and Elmer & Gussie Gassiott.
