It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bessie Walsh, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cherished friend, and avid dog lover. She passed peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 79.
Bessie was born April 19,1945 in Logansport, Louisiana to Ed and Vera Lou Holcomb. Bessie was a woman of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She took great pride in her large and loving family, whose lives were touched by her compassion and devotion. Bessie’s love extended beyond her family, with a special place in her heart for her dogs, who brought her immense joy and comfort throughout her life.
She was also a devoted wife, sharing a loving partnership with her husband, Donald Walsh. Together, they built a life filled with shared memories, love, and mutual support.
She leaves behind her children, David Muskiet Jr., Kurt (wife Faith) Muskiet, Lisa (husband Scott) Elmore, and Bonita Plank, grandchildren, Bonita (husband Nick) Simonds, David (wife Brandie) Muskiet III, Ali (husband Kenny) Vernon, Clayton Greer, Kasey Muskiet, Kody Muskiet, Bailey Elmore, Sydney Elmore, Ray Adams, Taylor (husband Billy) Adams, great-grandchildren, Abigail and Gabriella Simonds, David IV, Sophia, and Mia Muskiet, Ethan and Elijah Vernon, Archer Knight, and sisters, Betty (husband Lanny) Williams and Cynthia Ruffin who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her legacy of love, care, and loyalty will live on through each of them.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Walsh, parents Ed and Vera Lou Holcomb, Siblings, Judy, Mable, Tommy, Roy, Ed Jr., daughter in law, Martha Muskiet, and great granddaughter, Ava Muskiet. Though her presence is deeply missed, her spirit continues to guide and inspire her family.
Bessie's family was her greatest joy, and she always found ways to nurture and support those she loved. Her home was one filled with laughter, stories, and a warm welcome for anyone who entered. Bessie's kindness and strength were a guiding force for her family, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
The family is deeply grateful for the years they had with Bessie, and though she will be greatly missed, they take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the generations that follow.
Services will be held to celebrate Bessie Walsh’s life and legacy at Memorial Chapels Lufkin.

Viewing to be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 6-8pm with the funeral service being held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 1pm. Burial service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 11:30am. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
