Carolynn Sue DeWitt Godsey McElvaney Ainsworth, 81, formerly of Hobbs NM and Colorado City was born March 29, 1943, in Seligman MO to Virgil and Lois DeWitt. She passed away on September 10, 2024 in Woodville.
After graduating Hobbs High School, she attended Draughtons Business School, before working for Williamson’s Seed Company and Fenner Tubbs Company as a secretary. She lived in Colorado City for 23 years before moving to Hobbs, NM and later to Woodville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Colorado City and Belvue Baptist Church, and was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She loved to camp and fish, take photos and garage sale. You never knew what she’d catch, capture or find.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, C. W. DeWitt; and her three husbands, Ken Godsey, Jim McElvaney and Don Ainsworth. She is survived by son, Travis Price; daughter, Lori Saucedo and husband Fernando; son, Tracy McElvaney and wife Paige; daughter, Julie McGuinness; daughter, Lori Springer and husband Shane; step-son Terry Ainsworth and wife Joy; step daughter, Donna Taylor and husband Johnny. She is also survived by 24 grand kids and 10 great grandchildren
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024at the First Baptist Church in Colorado City. Services willfollow at 10:30 a.m.with Dr. Ted Spear officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lori Dockrey scholarship fund at First Baptist Church in Colorado City.
