Carrie Michelle Mitchell

 Carrie Michelle Mitchell, 55, of Zavalla passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in a local hospital after a hard fought, 7 month battle against cancer. A memorial service to celebrate Carrie’s life will be held at a later date with details to be announced soon. 

 Born on December 17, 1969 in Baytown, TX, Carrie was the beloved daughter of Deborah and the late Denton Eastwood. She had resided in Zavalla for 33 years. 

 Carrie had a servant’s heart and spent many years working as an emergency medical technician for Goldstar EMS. However, her greatest and proudest achievements in life were her children and her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. 

 Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Deborah & Patrick Taschery, son Chase (Jennifer) Fulfer, daughter Nichole (Lydia) Jordan, son Justin (Brianna) Lopez, grandchildren Kelcie & Kylie Ponder, Emmalyn, Nora Kay, Raegan, & Parker Fulfer, and Charlie Lopez, brothers Chris Eastwood, Kenneth (Cheryl) Eastwood, sister Sonya (Dusty) Birchfield, nieces Makaela (Daniel) Farr, BreAnna (Colten) Moreland, Nevaeh & Hannah Eastwood, nephew Kaden Eastwood and great nephew Rowen Farr.

 Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Denton Eastwood, uncle Jackie, aunt Leslie, aunt Carol, cousin Rachele and her grandparents.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice In The Pines 1504 W. Frank Ave Lufkin, TX 75904. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for their compassionate care.
