Cheryl Anette Davis was born April 3, 1959 to Don E. and Rosemary Cannady Smith. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on January 20, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cheryl graduated Lufkin High School in 1977, where she met the love of her life Richard Dean Davis. They were married on June 18, 1977 and shared 45 wonderful years. After Lufkin High School she continued to Stephen F Austin University where she got both her Bachelor and Master's Degree in Interior Design. She subsequently worked in various civil engineering firms where she found her love of drawing and teaching autoCAD drafting. Additionally she worked as an adjunct professor at Angelina College as well as Don Hill Architect where she designed many church and house plans.
In addition to being an avid homemaker, Cheryl loved cooking, art, gardening, crocheting, and her church. She loved to travel, especially camping in Colorado and visiting the beach. Above all else, she loved her six grandchildren (or "angel babies") who could do no wrong - just ask anyone.
She is survived by her mother Rosemary Smith, husband and best friend Richard Dean Davis, son Richard Don Davis and wife Jennifer, daughter Alyssa Kravitz and husband Daniel, sisters Christi Hill and Cynthia Brunkenhoefer, nieces and nephews Kevin McGee, James “Younger” Hill, Lindsay Neuman and Logan Brunkenhoefer, grandchildren Maycee Challis, Richard Fox Davis, Leo Davis, Alexander Challis, Katarina Davis, and Carson Kravitz.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her father Don E Smith, father-in-law Dewey Davis, and mother-in-law Ellen Currey and numerous grandparents, aunts and uncles.
