Clyde Wesley Brewer of Hemphill, Texas, devoted husband, father, PaPa, and Great PaPa passed away on December 12, 2023. He was born in Mineral Wells, Texas to Clyde Alfred Brewer and Maezelle Rike Brewer on August 31, 1930.
Clyde graduated in 1947 from Grand Prairie High School and received a master’s degree in business from the University of Dallas in 1977. He also became a Registered Professional Engineer. Clyde had an amazing 45 year career that began by serving one year in the Naval Reserve and four years in the United States Navy. He spent twenty-seven years working in aerospace quality control at Temco (now Lockheed Martin). He also worked for Otis Engineering as Director of Quality Control and later for a consulting company before he went into business for himself. Clyde started a very successful company called Quality Systems Registrars that has grown into a business with over 500 clients today. His career took him all over the world, including North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia for a total of 32 countries.
Clyde is survived by three children with his first wife Betty Peterson, Elizabeth Albright, Brenda Frick, Kerry Mark Brewer (Sharon). He had four children with his wife Norma, Laurie Brewer (Steve), David Brewer (Karina), Lisa Deslaurier (Hank), and Leah Stone. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren (2 on the way), and 1 great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Norma Maxey Brewer, son-in-law Tony Stone, and son-in-law Daniel Felske.
He was well known for his generosity and his love for sharing stories about his life, career, and the countries that he visited. His favorite experience was spending time with his family. He organized family beach vacations to Surfside, Texas for over 20 years. He will forever be missed by family, friends, and colleagues. He carried himself with dignity, strength, and a heart full of love for his family and those who went before him. The family will have a private gathering to honor him at a later date.
He would like to be remembered by having everyone continue to share the stories he was so fond of telling.
