Donald Lee Walsh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Walsh on September 21, 2023 at the age of 77. He was born on April 11, 1946 in Gastonia, North Carolina to Paul and Ylia Walsh.

Don Walsh was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and avid dog lover. Don served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Vietnam and North Carolina. He loved serving his country and was proud to be an American Marine. Don was an Airline Mechanic for Airborne Express for over 30 years. He loved grilling delicious meals to share with his friends and family. He was an all-around genuinely great Christian man.

Don Walsh is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bess Walsh, dogs, Callie and Sammy, Daughter, Lisa Elmore (husband Scott) Granddaughters, Bailey and Sydney Elmore, son, David Muskiet Jr., Granddaughter, Bonita Simmonds (husband Nick), Great-Granddaughters, Abigail and Gabriella Simmonds, Grandson, David Muskiet III (wife Brandi) Great-Grandson, David Muskiet IV \ and Great-Granddaughter expected December 2023, Son, Kurt Muskiet (wife Faith), Granddaughter Ali Vernon (husband Kenny), Great-Grandsons, Ethan and Eli Vernon, Grandsons Clayton Greer, Kasey and Kody Muskiet Grandson, Ray Adams III, Granddaughter Taylor Adams (husband Billy), Great Grandson Archer Knight, Brother Kenneth Walsh and family. He was preceded in death by parents Paul and Ylia Walsh and brother Gene Walsh.

Services will be held to celebrate Don Walsh's life and legacy at McNutt

Funeral Home, 400 S. First St. Lufkin, TX. Viewing to be held on September 26, 2023 from 5pm-7pm with the funeral service being held September 27, 2023 at 2pm. Burial service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 on September 28, 2023 at 1:30pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

Don Walsh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is joining his fellow Marines guarding the gates of Heaven.
