Donna Rae Exley

Donna Rae Hanson Exley, a beacon of unwavering love and kindness, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, at the age of 71 in Jasper, Texas. Born on August 26, 1952, in Fort Benning, Georgia, to the late Ray and Jeannette Hanson, Donna's early years were filled with the warmth of Southern hospitality and the joy of a close-knit family, which came to include her brothers, the late David Hanson and Daniel Reddin Hanson.

Donna's life was a testament to her generous spirit and her capacity for love. She was the cherished wife of Arthur Michael Exley, with whom she built a life rich in laughter, adventure, and shared dreams. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Michael David and Jason Matthew Exley, who in turn gave her the precious gift of grandchildren –Michael Jr., Richard, Dakota, Jason Jr., Mckenzie, and Andrew. Her eldest, son Shawn Kreger gave her strength, perseverance and endurance to follow through. The peace of mind and tranquility she gained was her salvation from the regrets she carried. now at peace. The circle of joy expanded with the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Ellie June, who brought immeasurable happiness to Donna's later years.

An avid gardener, Donna found peace and solace tending to her plants, cultivating beauty in her surroundings just as she nurtured love in her family. Her passion extended to the great outdoors, where she and her family made countless memories camping under the stars. Donna's love for animals was evident in her care for the various farm animals that graced her property, each one receiving the same love and attention she gave to every aspect of her life. She also was a avid quilter having many different machines and tool to quilt beautiful works of art.

Her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were the light of her life. Donna invested her time, energy, and boundless love into their upbringing, leaving a legacy of cherished moments and life lessons that will continue to guide them.

Those who knew Donna will forever remember her for the loving, kind, and generous soul she was. Her presence was a comfort, her smile a treasure, and her guidance a constant source of strength.
