Dorothy Juanita Glover

Graveside services for Dorothy (Cartwright) Glover, 91, of Wells will be held on Monday, January 18 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Wells, Texas with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. She made her transition to heaven after a brief COVID-related illness. Dorothy was born August 16, 1929 in Wells, Texas to the late Gracie Bell Latham Cartwright and Oscar Cartwright and died Friday, January 15, 2021 in Lufkin, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Wells and worked at the Wells Nursing Home as a medication aide for 30 years. She was also a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Wells. Dorothy is survived by her children, Diane Glover Williamson of Lufkin and husband Ricky; Karen Glover Petty of Tyler; and Darryl Jackson Glover of Wells and wife Ronda. She was “Mamaw” to grandchildren - Karla Williamson Crawford of Pollock, Keith Williamson and wife Eva of Athens, Kelly Williamson and wife Raegan of Lufkin, Lyndsay Petty Shaffer of Tyler, Kassidy Petty of Arlington, Janie Glover Shumaker and husband Jason of Pollok, Robin Glover of Wells, Melissa Glover Redd and husband Roger of Pollok, as well as to 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was a sister to Jean Cartwright Pounds, Floyd Cartwright (deceased), and Vernice Cartwright Flournoy (deceased) all of Wells, and Betty Cartwright Bunyard (deceased) of Burleson. She had numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called her, “Aunt Dorothy”. She is also survived by friends and other relatives. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Williamson (grandson); Kelly Williamson (grandson); Cheyenne Williamson (great-grandson); Joshua Rains (great-grandson); Trent Bethard (great-grandson); Brody Shumaker (great-grandson); Garrett Allen (great-grandson); and Tanner Glover (great-grandson).
