Florence Earlene Mitchell

Florence ‘Sissy’ Mitchell, 77, of Hudson TX passed away peacefully, Friday August 2, 2024 at Castle Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Mitchell was born December 25, 1946 in Lufkin TX to the late Charlie O. and Fay (Maloney) Crawford. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1965 and she resided in Whittier CA for over 40 years and returned home after the loss of her husband in 2016. She loved dancing and loved listening to Elvis Presley and classic Country Music. She learned how to cast and hand paint porcelain dolls and even took them to shows. She was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and would set you straight if you tried to talk bad about them. She was so full of life and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sister Joyce Havard of Hudson TX; brother and sister-in-law Charles (Pete) and Norma Crawford of Mansfield TX; brother and sister-in-law Carl (Dink) and Darlene Crawford of Hudson TX; sister-in-law Margie Crawford Bitz of Emmett ID; sister-in-law Nadine Crawford of Lufkin TX; sister-in-law Sharon Crawford of Hudson TX; sister-in-law Norma Mitchell Keggereis of Rockwall TX; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; her beloved dog Bo that brought her so much happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Mitchell, and four brothers James Edward Crawford, Kenneth (Booster) Crawford, Marshall Lee Crawford and Oscar Crawford.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Crawford, Larry Dixon, Merle Mitchell, Keith (Bubba) Roach, Kenny Tatrai, Pat Tomez

Honorary Pallbearer will be Dwayne Windham

Her family would like to say thank you to her caregivers Rita Jo Ferguson, Cherita Ferguson, Bethany Carnley and Rhonda Jackson and staff at Castle Pines Health and Rehabilitation in Lufkin TX.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday August 9, 2024 in the McNutt Funeral Home Chapel of Lufkin. A funeral service will be held 9:00 AM Saturday August 10, 2024 in the McNutt Funeral Home Chapel of Lufkin. Followed by a graveside service at Narrow Way Cemetery in Hudson, TX.
