Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 24th at McNutt Funeral Home in Lufkin from 5-7 PM. Lacho was born in Mexico City on June 2, 1968. He spent much of his childhood surrounded by family, where he grew to be a passionate, vibrant child. He loved playing sports, the arts, and loved beans so much he earned the nickname of “frijolacho”. He arrived in Nacogdoches in 1980, where he would find lifelong passions alongside his brothers in golf, tennis, music, and church. During this time, Lacho would create fantastic life experiences that he would retell with extraordinary detail. Lacho was a storyteller that was able to make a connection with anyone and felt comfortable everywhere he went. Known to dress to impress, Lacho was keen on teaching his nieces and nephews the importance of first impressions and the value of looking good. He married Araceli in 2005, the love of his life, with whom he lived for and did everything with. Lacho spent many hours at the library where he would read, play pingpong, and strike up worldly conversations. Lacho was a loving husband, brother, and uncle who cared deeply about the success and protection of his family. He lived his life to the fullest with Chely by his side. Whenever he was free, he would find a tee time within driving distance, watch a movie with loved ones, or find a game. Lacho never held back from making a joke and had the biggest smile in the room. Being ever friendly, Lacho was always a bright spark in any situation, going above and beyond to make an impact and difference in people's lives. His passion in life was helping, caring, and interacting with those in assisted living and nursing homes. Those who knew him were proud to call him their son, brother, uncle, and cousin, but most importantly, a great friend and mentor. Lacho is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Araceli; parents Ceferino & Socorro; siblings Temo, Moni and partner, Andres, Tavo and accomplice, Missy, Lili and husband, JA, and Valdo and wife, Susan; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Tavo, Temo, Valdo, Aaron, Jeff Gound, Josue, JA, and Cristian. “Men of action, above all those whose actions are guided by love, live forever.” - Jose Marti
