James Larry High Sr., 71, of Cleveland, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. Born on November 21, 1949, in Latexo, Texas. He was an electrician for 40 years and a minister for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denning Levoy High and Wessie Lillian Nealey High; son, James High Jr.; father-in-law, Charles Cecil Scogins. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 ½ years, Debra Alice Scogins High; daughter, Ginger Jarrells and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Daniel Jarrells, Blake Jarrells, Wyatt Jarrells, Isaac High, Tara Potts and husband J.C., Shanna High, Cody High and wife Chelsea, and Kayla Pelkey; great grandchildren, Levi Bayne, Raelynn Jarrells, Lauryn Alison, Kayleigh High, and Waylon Potts; daughters-in-love, Nancy Howard and Shirley Buracker; one brother; several sisters; mother-in-law, Martha Scogins Schmidt and husband Tommy.
