John Edward Williams

John passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 18,2024 at Harbor Hospice, Jasper, Tx.

John was born November 02,1946 to Art and Francis (Wright) Williams in Burkburnett,Tx.

John served in the U.S.Navy.

John married Linda Byrd Harwell on October 4,1975, and celebrated their 48th anniversary.

John became a Master Tankerman and retired from Petroleum Service/SGS of Pasadena, TX. in 2008.

John and Linda retired to Lake Sam Rayburn to join their lifelong friends and go fishing.

John enjoyed playing golf, chess, camping, being a big jokester and became a kid again when taking his grandkids to the lake.

In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his brother Ernest (Ernie) Williams, his sister Barbara (Williams) Brewer and his double cousin Harlan Williams.

John is survived by his wife, Linda, brother Willie, sons Brian Keith Williams, Gary Harwell Jr., daughters Leslie Lynn (Williams) Hauber and Tracy Rene' (Harwell) Harris, nieces Crystal (Gilpin) Bryant, Jennifer Patterson and sister in-laws Leisa Williams and June Patterson.

8 grandchildren, Saxon, Aubery, Amy, Ashton, Paige, Kendra, Haley, Reagan and 9 great-grand children.

At John's request there will not be a memorial service, instead for those who knew him remember the good times, smile and laugh.

Special thanks to the nurses of Harbor Hospice and to our neighbors Wayne & Jamie Ellis, Brad & Donna Spivey, Daniel & Jessica Spivey who went above and beyond with their kindness and support during our time of loss.
