Judy Lanell Tindall, a lifelong resident of Nacogdoches, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Born on Wednesday, December 6, 1950, she was the sixth child born to Homer Culberson Tindall and Alpha Matlock Tindall; Judy was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, mother and "Mams". She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1969. She also attended Beauty College and Stephen F. Austin University. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and took great pride in her work.As a young girl, Judy attended Westside Baptist Church. Later, she enjoyed worship at Live Oak Baptist Church. Judy dedicated time to researching genealogy, specifically within Nacogdoches County. She shared this hobby with her daughter and they enjoyed time spent together, visiting cemeteries and researching. She also enjoyed sharing her love of antiques, eclectic items, reading, nature, and tea parties with her daughter and grandchildren. Her love extended beyond her family to the animal kingdom, nurturing every stray cat in her neighborhood. She was especially fond of her cat, Beau. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Culberson Tindall and Alpha Matlock Tindall, her sister, Joan Clifton, and infant baby sister. She is survived by daughter Stormy Tindall Winslow (John) of The Woodlands, grandchildren Sarah "Xander" Winslow, Sam Winslow. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Tindall of Tyler, Katie McDill of Mesquite, Sammie Holmes of Nacogdoches; brother, Homer Dean Tindall of Dallas. She also leaves behind in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, her special friend, Ms. Tona Greer, and her beloved cat, Beau. The family will receive visitors at 10 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. A service to honor Judy's life will follow at 11 am. The family expresses their gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and A Pineywoods Home Health Care for the services provided in her final years. In addition to many wonderful caregivers, Tona Greer and neighbor, Darnell, enriched her daily life. Judy was vivacious, clever and witty; she will be forever cherished.
