His legacy continues through his nieces, Christina Fredregill and her husband Curt of Huntington, Texas, and Dana Massey and her husband Brian of Lufkin, Texas; his nephew, Leslie Thomason of Round Lake, Illinois; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews who will miss his gentle presence. Mark's life was also enriched by his close family friend, Lynnette Hodges of Lufkin, Texas. Preceding him in death were his father, Frank Thomason, his sister, Charlotte Lee, and his brother, Adam Thomason, who have now welcomed him with open arms.

He was happiest surrounded by the laughter and stories of his loved ones, often recounting fond memories and creating new ones that his family will treasure forever.
