Mark Thomason

January 10, 1959 — December 10, 2023

Mark Thomason, a cherished son, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, in Lufkin, Texas, at the age of 64. Born on January 10, 1959, in Houston, Texas, Mark lived a life marked by love, thoughtfulness, and a selfless devotion to his family.

He is survived by his adoring mother, Carlene "Kitty" Thomason of Lufkin, Texas, who fondly remembers Mark as a beacon of light in their family. His legacy continues through his nieces, Christina Fredregill and her husband Curt of Huntington, Texas, and Dana Massey and her husband Brian of Lufkin, Texas; his nephew, Leslie Thomason of Round Lake, Illinois; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews who will miss his gentle presence. Mark's life was also enriched by his close family friend, Lynnette Hodges of Lufkin, Texas. Preceding him in death were his father, Frank Thomason, his sister, Charlotte Lee, and his brother, Adam Thomason, who have now welcomed him with open arms.

Mark's greatest joy was found in the company of his family. He was happiest surrounded by the laughter and stories of his loved ones, often recounting fond memories and creating new ones that his family will treasure forever. Mark's love for his family was evident in every action he took, and his presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed.

Mark's character was the epitome of loving, thoughtful, and selfless. He had a rare kind of generosity, one that expected nothing in return. His thoughtfulness extended beyond his family, touching the lives of everyone he met. Mark's selflessness was most apparent in the way he put the needs of others before his own, ensuring that those he cared for were always well looked after.

The absence of Mark Thomason will be felt by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on through the countless memories he has left behind. His passing is not just a loss but also a reminder to cherish every moment with our loved ones.

As we say see you later to Mark, we celebrate the life he lived and the impact he made on those around him. He will be remembered not just for the life he led but for the love he shared and the unassuming way he made our world a better place. Rest in peace, dear Mark; your kindness and warmth will never be forgotten.
