Mary Regina Dickerson (Gina)

December 22, 1956 — March 20, 2025

Mary Regina “Gina” Dickerson, cherished mother, loving grandmother, and devoted friend, was born on December 22, 1956, in Houston, Texas. She gracefully departed this world on March 20, 2025, in Jasper, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and unwavering love.

For over 30 years, Gina passionately served in the healthcare industry as a registered nurse. Her heart was inherently tuned to the joys of bringing new life into the world, and her dedication to her patients was palpable. She earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas, and took pride in obtaining her Registered Nursing License on March 20, 1981.

Gina’s spirit radiated warmth and humor, making her a loyal friend to many. She was outspoken yet kind, embodying an open heart that embraced everyone she met. Her ability to forgive and love without reservation carved a special place for her in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The joy she found in her family was unparalleled. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, always ready for a visit from friends or family, and delighting in every precious moment with her dear ones. Gina is survived by her daughters: Tracie Hatch Wolfford and her husband, Michael Wayne Wolfford; Jennifer Hatch Phillips and her husband, Robert Phillips; Jessica Newman; and Riki Woosley. Her grandchildren, Jon-Caleb, Dalton, Madeline, Jacob, Rico, Jenna, Jordan, Salvador, Gabriel, Paxton, Isaac, Alivia, Carson, Payton, Katie, and Kamryn were always the light of her life. Gina was also a proud grandmother to her eight great-grandchildren and shared a special bond with her grand dog, Creed. She is additionally survived by her sister, Pamela Dickerson Kincannon and brother, John Dickerson and his wife Brenda Dickerson, as well as her nieces and nephew.

Outside of her professional life and family, Gina nurtured passions that reflected her vibrant personality. She collected Native American artifacts and dreamcatchers, surrounded herself with the color purple, which brought her joy, and delighted in the works of Stephen King. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed watching classic shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza, along with Hallmark Channel sitcoms and the Gameshow Network. A fan of heartfelt movies, her favorite was ‘Fried Green Tomatoes.’ Earlier in her life, she found creativity in playing piano and saxophone, as well as crocheting and various crafts, additional testaments to her multifaceted spirit.

Gina’s proudest accomplishments were woven into the very fabric of her being — helping others, her nursing career, and the immense joy she found in being a grandmother. As we celebrate her life, we remember a woman who poured her heart into every interaction, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Gina is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved parents, Mary E. Dickerson and Dr. Joe Wesley Dickerson, along with her cherished Aunt Ozella “Auntie Mac” Talbot. Though she has left this earthly plane, Gina Dickerson’s remarkable legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to resonate with us all, an everlasting gift that we will carry in our hearts forever.
