Myrtis Marie Bagley

Myrtis, at the age of 57 years passed from this life on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was born in San Augustine, Texas to Arbie Lee and Alice Marie Sowell. She was the youngest of seven siblings and was known as “Sweetdoll” and “Maw Maw” to everyone. In 1984 she graduated from Broaddus High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt and friend to many.

She loved the outdoors, sitting by the lake, crocheting, her flowers, and working in her yard. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching the wildlife and grandkids. She was a Baptist by faith and may be gone but will never be forgotten.

Myrtis is survived by her husband, James Lynn Bagley, sons; Doug DeMaranville, James Lee Bagley, daughters; Brittney Smith, and Samantha Jeane, sister; Carolyn Johnson Sowell, brother-in-law; Charles Sowell, many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arbie Lee and Alice Marie Sowell, and brothers; Johnny Johnson and Jerry Johnson, Narhannon Sowell, sisters; Janis Stanland Darin, Shirley Jean Johnson and Frances Lee Johnson Burgin.
