Patsy Ruth Rowell (Holley), lovingly known as Pat to her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 5, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on June 18, 1940, in Maydelle, Texas, Pat was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
Pat spent her final days surrounded by the love and warmth of her family in Wells, Texas. She was the cherished matriarch, whose laughter and joy were the cornerstone of many family gatherings. Pat's legacy of love is carried on by her devoted husband of 52 years, Leo Holley; her son Roy Rowell Jr. and Daniel Holley; her daughter Tammie and her husband Cliff McMillan; her daughter Viola and her husband Brandon Blackwelder.
Her memory will also be treasured by her grandchildren, Brian and his wife Kim Allen, Joshua Wilson, Caleb and his wife Kenna Wilson, Abram Holley, Logan Holley, Jacob Holley, Cameron Holley, Jeremiah Martin and his wife Rachael Dalzell, and Destinie and her husband Robert Townley. Pat was a proud great-grandmother to Sophia Allen, Michael Wilson, Sophia Townley, and Grayson Townley. Her unwavering love and guidance will continue to shape their lives for years to come.
Before her retirement, Pat dedicated many years of service to the Lufkin State School. She also ran a daycare from her home, nurturing countless children with her kindness and care. Her involvement in her work and community reflected her generous spirit and commitment to the well-being of others.
Pat's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant personality. Alongside her husband Leo, she shared a love for karaoke and bingo. Weekends often found her at her sister's house, engaging in spirited games of farkle. Her garden was graced with pink roses, her favorite, which she tended to with the same love and attention she gave to her family and friends.
A woman of devout faith, Pat lived a life exemplifying the virtues of compassion, warmth, and generosity. Her faith-filled nature was the guiding light for her family, and her passionate love for the Lord was evident in her every action. She cherished her grandkids and great-grandkids immensely, and they, in turn, were the source of her greatest joy.
Pat is preceded in death by her father, Lester Williams, and her mother, Gussie Lusk. She also joins her brothers Alton, Jack, and Lesley Williams, and sisters Dorothy Hutto, Kathryn Lusk, Louis Garner, and Cassie Williams in eternal rest. Her first husband, Roy Rowell Sr., with whom she shared many loving memories, also precedes her in passing.
Those who knew Pat will remember her as a loving, passionate soul who saw the beauty in life's simplest moments. Her kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
