Paulette Coey

A Memorial Service for Mary Paulette (Calhoun) Coey, 78 of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at McNutt Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Riley Hamilton officiating. Mrs. Coey was born December 30, 1942, in Nacogdoches County, Texas to Floyd Beamon and Mavis Pauline Calhoun, and graduated to heaven on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in Lufkin, Texas. Mrs. Coey moved to Dallas in 1969 where they would raise their three children while she worked at Shippers Warehouse in Dallas, Texas for 37 years where she was a faithful employee until she retired in 2013. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When Mrs. Coey was able she loved to pass time cooking with and for others. She was a long-time member of West Mesquite Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas where she loved fellowshipping with others. Mrs. Coey and her spouse returned back to Lufkin in 2015. Mrs. Coey is survived by her husband of 56 years, James W. Coey of Lufkin, Texas, daughter and son-in-law Laverne and Gary Tumbaga of Denton, Texas, son and daughter-in-law James (Bo) and Krista Coey of Canton, Texas, daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Keith Riddle of Kemp, Texas.; grandchildren J.C and spouse Heather Johnson, Brittany Holman, Dusti Palenzuela, Hollie Riddle, Keith (Bubba) Riddle, and Noah Tumbaga, and nine great-grandchildren, her mother, Mavis Pauline Calhoun, two brothers, and a sister: Beamon and Doris Calhoun, Jeanette and Jerry Thompson, and Billy and Caryn Calhoun all of Angelina County; SIster-in-law, Dorris Wilson of Center, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Beamon Calhoun, and brother, Leon Calhoun. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenneessee.
