Rebecca Suzann Kitcher, known affectionately as Becca or Honey to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Born on April 12, 1959, in Houston, Texas, Becca's zest for life and her unwavering spirit touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Becca's journey began as the beloved daughter of Charles "Chief" Duffin and Lel Red Duffin, who preceded her in death. Her upbringing in Texas instilled in her the values of family, faith, and community, which she carried with her throughout her life.
In her hometown, Becca's heart found its match in Bubba, who would become her devoted husband. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their two children, JD and Katie. JD and Katie added two more children for Becca and Bubba to love by marrying Amber and Bobby. Becca's role as a grandmother to Kyle, Creighton, Blaikley, and Kaislyn was one of her greatest delights. She embraced every moment with her grandkids, whether it was crafts, cooking, or watching them play their sports. Family was everything to her.
Becca's educational journey led her to Stephen F. Austin, where she honed the skills that would serve her throughout her professional life. Her career included meaningful roles at Nettie Marshall, Mike Minor Enterprises, Dr. Roubly's office, SFA Charter School, Tanglewood Learning Center, and Martinsville ISD.
A woman of many interests, Becca found joy in the simple pleasures of life. In her younger years, she was an avid horse rider and enjoyed the thrill of fox hunting. She loved cooking and doing crafts, especially with her grandchildren.
Becca's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of the Impact Cowboy Church of Nacogdoches. Her involvement in the church was not just about attending services; it was about building a community, forging friendships, and extending her generosity and love to all those around her.
Described by those who knew her as generous, loving, and passionate, Becca's legacy is one of love and unwavering support for her family and friends. Her presence was a light in the lives of many, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her story.
Becca is survived by her husband, James “Bubba” Kitcher; son, James “JD” Kitcher and wife, Amber; daughter, Katie Frank and husband, Bobby; grandsons, Kyle Frank and Creighton Kitcher; granddaughters, Blaikley Frank and Kaislyn Kitcher; siblings, Rodney Duffin, Kathy Guglielmo and husband Tom, John Duffin, George Duffin and wife Judy; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
As we bid farewell to Rebecca Suzann Kitcher, we celebrate a life lived with vibrant passion, boundless love, and a spirit that will forever be remembered. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved, and her influence will continue to inspire generations to come.
A memorial service for Becca will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Impact Cowboy Church of Nacogdoches (415 FM 2112 Nacogdoches), followed by a graveside service at the family farm (316 Duffin Ln. Nacogdoches).
