Richard Coleman Auer, 57, of Katy, Texas. May 17,1966 to December 31, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard. He left this world to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on December 31, 2023.
Richard was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, and great uncle, and spent much of his life loving and living near his family.
Richard was always quick to lend a hand when problems arose and rarely came up short when looking for solutions.
Richard was an ardent fan of the Houston Astros and Texans and could be counted on to provide near real time updates anytime a game was on. He and his good friend, Joe Stuart often watched games together and invited anyone in the vicinity to come and watch them. Richard also loved old westerns and John Wayne, specifically.
As a youngster we nicknamed him Ricky doo. When he was about 12 he asked to be called Richard, not Ricky doo or Rich, just Richard.
What we will miss the most is his great outlook on life and his love for Our Lord Jesus Christ. Also, reminiscing about our childhood. so many memories.
Richard worked offshore and for KBR as a mechanic for the majority of his life. He also lived in Huntington, Tx and Lufkin, Tx in his teenage years and attended Huntington highschool.
Richard was preceded in death by grandmother, Mamie Hunt, father, William Sherman Auer, and Mother, Mildred Auer.
He is survived by loving brothers, William Douglas Auer and wife Cheryl of Katy, David Lee Auer of Houston, and beloved sister Linda Kay Dotson of Katy. His nephews, Tyler Sherman Auer and wife Megan of Wharton, Tx and Jared Wayne Dotson and wife Ranece of Cypress. And a host of great nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Tyler S. Auer who has been our pillar of strength.
The way Richard treated others, and the way others treated him, will not be forgotten.
It's not goodbye, just until we meet again. Love you Richard!
