Ronald O. Stephens, 73, passed away peacefully, with his wife by side, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Ronnie was born July 2, 1947 in Port Arthur, TX. Family was very important to Ronnie. He was the oldest of 6 siblings. He spent most of his childhood in Louisiana and Texas. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Lineman for Beauregard Electric Company for 18 years. For the last 20 years of his career he worked for independent highline construction companies around the country. After retirement he enjoyed traveling to see his grandchildren and visiting family and friends. He also loved singing and worshiping with his church family. He attended Temple of God Church in Pineland, TX. He was a lifelong fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Stephens. Children, Tammy and Mike Kay of Leesville, LA, Scott Stephens of Rosepine, LA, Cody and Jerrad Toups of Baytown, TX; Grandchildren, Jacob (Chelsie) Kay, Bethany Kay, Cally Toups, & Benjamin Toups; Great-grandchild, Bethinie & Bennett Kay; brothers, Steve Stephens of DeRidder, LA, Bill Stephens (Jane) of Humble, TX, Robert Stephens (Randi) of Moore, OK; Sisters, Lana (Gus) Gonzales of Magnolia, TX, Gloria Miller of Dayton, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. There will be a memorial service celebrating Ronnie’s life on Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 am at Freedom Fellowship Church in Silsbee, TX. 8137 W FM 418, Silsbee, TX 77656. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, TX for their excellent care, compassion, and communication.
