Samuel Lee Musick

October 18, 1950 — May 3, 2023

Samuel Lee Musick of Brookeland Texas passed away on May 3, 2023 at the age of 72. Sam was born to Harvey and Thelma Musick on October 18, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and served 28

years with the Oklahoma City Fire Department, retiring as a Major in 2004.

Sam had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was full of energy and worked and played hard. Sam loved helping others and looked for reasons to load up his trailer with all his tools to help someone out of a tight spot. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation about anything with anyone. Sam loved old cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed solving the world's problems at break with the guys and knew a little about everything, and even if he didn’t he might say he did.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey & Thelma Musick, brothers, Lawrence Musick, and Bill Musick, and sister-in-law Babe Musick.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christon and Rafe Cummings, grandson, Ethan Cummings, granddaughter, Emma Cait Cummings, and niece Sheila Nicks and her husband, Brian Nicks.

In Sam’s style, a BBQ dinner will be held to celebrate his life on May 27th at 4pm at 412 Angelina Dr, Brookeland, Texas.  Bring your lawn chair and your favorite story.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Lake Sam Rayburn Fire Department in Sam’s memory. An account has been set up at Sabine State Bank with all proceeds going to the Lake Sam Rayburn Fire Department.
