Sidney “Mike” Cantrell, 70, was born September 2, 1952, in Odessa, Texas to Sidney Cantrell and Marian Jones. He passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 4th, in Livingston, Texas.
Mike was a hardworking painter and Sheetrock worker by trade that put his family before anything. He lived his younger years in Long Beach, California and Fort Worth, Texas. When Mike was able, he enjoyed fly fishing, surfing, skateboarding and restoring old cars. In his later years, he found joy in gardening, mowing the yard, and spending time with his dog Rey Rey. He really enjoyed animals, music and movies, especially Star Wars.
Mike is survived by his wife, Lori Cantrell of Corrigan, Texas. Daughter, Tabitha and Jason Enloe of Splendora, Texas. Sons: James and Kim Dennis of Weatherford, Texas; Jason and Angela Dennis of Benbrook, Texas; Jessie Cantrell of New Boston, Texas; Issac Cantrell of Jacksboro, Texas; Jeff and Cassie Elias of Kilgore, Texas; Roy Hopson of Corrigan, Texas; and Daniel Inwood of Portland, Oregon. Nephews: Danny and Dorrie Tidwell of Mobile, Alabama; Robbie Tidwell of Lebanon, Tennessee; Ramsey Thompson of Moscow, Texas; and Chris and Meggan Thompson of New Waverly, Texas. Nieces: Tammy Sanders of Lebanon, Tennessee; Jolona Jeter of Portland, Oregon; Kathy Cantrell of Portland, Oregon and Zayne and Krystyn Cozart of Moscow, Texas. Grandchildren: Nani Gomes, Blake Dennis, Bryson Dennis, Zoie Cantrell, Zeke Cantrell, Morgan Franklin, Aleigha Elias, and Deuce Enloe. Great-grandchild, Damon Henderson. Mother-In-Law: Bennie Pate. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ronnie and Sheri Thompson of Moscow, Texas and Skipper and Vicki Pate of Corrigan, Texas. Mike is also survived by a host of special friends that he considered family.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Marian Jones; father, Sidney Cantrell; stepdad H.L Brittin; father-in-law, Jack Pate; brother, Lonnie Cantrell, and sisters Kathy Cantrell and Vera Dye.
Visitation will be 10-11am on Saturday, September 10th with service to follow at the McNutt Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas.
