After a lengthy battle with cancer, Larry left his earthly home January 6, 2021, to join his parents Bill and Viola Garrett, as well as 4 brothers: Donnie, Johnny, Dan and Jim Garrett in their Heavenly home. Born 5/27/48 in Nacogdoches, Texas, Larry was a “Jack of All Trades”. After graduation from Diana High School, he moved to Houston, Tx and worked for Hughs Tool before joining the Army. After his discharge, he held various jobs as dental assistant, welder, and truck driver. His interests were many, ranging from hunting/fishing to riding his Harley and watching his beloved Astros play. He is survived by his “Bride”, Charlotte Garrett, daughter Teri Garrett-Robinson and husband Jonathan, Angela Jill Garrett, Stephen Larry Garrett, Chari Armstrong and husband Richard, Donna Lee, and Maelena Casper and husband Marcus. He was also survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, of whom he was extremely proud, and sister Shelia Reneau, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. Larry never met a stranger and was always quick to lend a helping hand. His stories, jokes, and most of all his laughter and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all. The family will hold a memorial at a later date to honor his life.
