Virginia "Jenny" Ann Simmons

Virginia (Jenny) Ann Simmons was born August 29, 1949 in Martinsburg, West Virginia and walked into Heaven to meet Jesus on March 4, 2024 in Onalaska, Texas with her family at her bedside.

In her life's journey she enjoyed playing dominoes, reading, completing "word finds", bowling, walking, listening to music, riding her bike, decorating for every holiday, riding her John Deere mower, going to the Senior's Citizen Center to visit with friends and playing bingo. She loved vacationing in Branson, Missouri and going on Carnival Cruises. She loved animals and never hesitated to pick up a stray animal and find it a new home. She worked at the school cafeteria and was also a secretary. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends.

Jenny is preceded in death by her parents, Roy L. Brannon Sr. and Grace E. Hess, brothers; Roy (Pete) L. Brannon Jr. and Victor (Doc) N. Brannon; nephew; Roy (Petie) L. Brannon 3rd. and step-mom, Marion F. Brannon.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles L. Simmons Sr. of almost 59 years of marriage. Her children; Michelle (Mikki) E. Roberts and husband, Kenneth of Seabrook, Tx., Charle L. Martinez and special friend, Steve of Santa Fe, Tx. , and Charles (Bubba) L. Simmons Jr. of Onalaska, TX., 8 grandchildren; Derek Sims of Seabrook, TX., Christopher Sims and wife, Krystal of Alvin, TX., Misty Richardson and husband, Keith of Houston, Tx., Amber Laubach and husband, David of Yantis, Tx. , Scott Morris and Cody Stokes of Jasper, AL., Grace Simmons-Garza of Santa Fe, TX., and Kayla Ortiz and husband, Chris of Forney, TX. 8 Great-grandchildren; Kylie, Kenzie, and CJ Sims, Bailee and Dorian Laubach, Alex and Greyson Morris, and Elijah Ortiz, sisters; Barbara Dunn of Santa Fe, TX., Reba LeMaster of Baltimore, MD., and Frances (Sissy) Berryhill of Inwood, WV., and brother, John Brannon of Martinsburg, WV, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and her special kitties; Cali and Gray.

It was per Jenny's request to be cremated without an immediate service. Her family will gather on April 20, 2024 to honor her and Charles' 59th Wedding Anniversary, which is on April 19, 2024.
