Walter Eugene Goodman

Walter Eugene Goodman was born in San Augustine, Texas on August 25, 1944 and resided in Lufkin all of his life. He was 76 years old. He passed away in a Lufkin hospital on January 2, 2021 from complications from COVID-19. He is preceded in death by his common law wife of 27 years, Irene Huffman, a brother named Bud, and sisters Dora Lee and Dinah and son James Costa. He is survived by his son, Robert Costa and Julie of Lufkin, Vickie Costa and Charles Ray of Lufkin and Nelda Huffman. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren, multiple step-children, nieces and nephews. Walter was a plumber by trade and loved to work on small engines on the side. While piddling in the yard, he liked to listen to some Conway or Merle. He loved his coffee in the mornings and it was stronger than mud. He always had time to hear a good joke. He had a kind heart and always shared everything he had with other people. He had a love for dogs, old westerns and everything on the sci-fi channel. He loved to collect old VCR,s and various other kinds of junk he thought he could make an extra dollar on. I guess you could say his motto was “One mans junk is another mans treasure.”
